Global Investment Institute congratulates Andrew Major on his promotion to the role of Strategic Advisor - Investments Operating Model at HESTA.
HESTA is an Australian industry superannuation fund with A$93 billion in assets under management and more than 1.05 million members.
Most recently, Andrew was Chief Risk Officer for the fund where he built and led the central (line 2) team responsible for managing and overseeing all enterprise risk and regulatory engagement activities across the business. He commenced with HESTA in 2009 as General Manager, Unlisted Assets.
Prior to HESTA, Andrew was an Associate Director at Macquarie Bank. He currently sits on the board of Basketball Australia and has previously been a director of ISPT, the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees and the Climate Bonds Standards Board, as well as chairing the Australian Investment Council from January 2019 to November 2021.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and a Masters in Applied Finance from Macquarie University.
