Global Investment Institute congratulates Craig Dandurand on his appointment to role of Chief Investment Officer at Spotlight Group Holdings.
Spotlight Group comprises Spotlight Retail Group (SRG), Spotlight Property Group (SPG) and Alara Investments. SRG's retail brands include Spotlight, Anaconda, Mountain Designs, and Harris Scarfe.
Prior to his appointment at Spotlight Group Holdings, Craig served as the inaugural Chief Investment Officer for the Tuckwell Family Office from 2023.
Before he became a family office investment leader, Craig spent more than twenty years investing on behalf of two of the world’s most prominent asset owners: the Future Fund, Australia’s sovereign wealth fund, and the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), the largest public pension fund in the United States.
From 2014 to 2022 Craig was a senior member of the investment team at the Future Fund, where he was most recently Head of Debt, overseeing more than A$20 billion in credit investments and more than A$40 billion in cash and short-term debt securities. Craig’s responsibilities included oversight of the Future Fund’s investments in a range of asset classes and subsectors, including all types of credit, hedge funds and other alternative strategies, and insurance-linked securities.
Prior to moving to Australia, Craig spent thirteen years at CalPERS, first as a credit analyst and then as portfolio manager for the fund’s Absolute Return Strategies unit, which managed CalPERS’s US$7 billion hedge fund program.
Craig began his career as a bankruptcy lawyer and holds a Bachelor of Science, Mathematics from Harvey Mudd College and a Doctor of Law from the University of California, Davis.
We wish Craig all the best in his new role and continued success to the team at Spotlight Group Holdings.
