Global Investment Institute congratulates Alex Satchcroft on his promotion to the Head of Private Equity role at Aware Super.
Aware Super is an Australian superannuation fund with ~A$210 billion in assets under management and 1.2 million members.
In his new role, Alex will report to newly appointed Head of Private Markets Jenny Newmarch, who was also the Fund’s previous Head of Private Equity. Alex will lead the development and execution of Aware Super's global private equity strategy, overseeing portfolio construction, performance and risk across the Fund's A$11 billion private equity portfolio.
Jenny said Aware Super was proud to appoint from within as it reflected the Fund's commitment to growing and retaining world-class investment talent. "Alex has made a significant contribution to our private equity capability since joining the team in 2023, and his appointment as Head of Private Equity is a natural progression. He brings deep experience in private equity from some of the world's most respected firms and is a thought leader in the private equity industry."
Most recently, Alex served as Senior Portfolio Manager, Private Equity at Aware Super, having joined the fund in 2023 as Portfolio Manager, Private Equity.
Prior to that, Alex held various senior roles at Aviron Investment Management, Anchorage Capital Group, Macquarie Group and Apax Partners.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Law from the University of Sydney and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar, a distinction awarded to the top five per cent of each graduating class.
