Mathieu Elshout, Head of International, Aware Super

Global Investment Institute congratulates Mathieu Elshout on his promotion to the Head of International role at Aware Super.
Aware Super is an Australian superannuation fund with ~A$235 billion in assets under management and 1.3 million members.
Mathieu will commence in his new role on 1 July, based in the London office. He will continue to lead on the European Property strategy, as Senior Portfolio Manager, Property UK, having joined the fund in 2024.
Aware Super formally launched its London office in November 2023 as part of its strategy to globalise its investment capability in line with the growth of Australian pension capital. The Fund has committed £5.25 billion (approximately $A10 billion) for deployment across the UK and Europe in real estate, infrastructure and private equity.
Previously, Mathieu held various roles at PATRIZIA AG, PGGM Investments and Sweco.
Mathieu holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science from Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences and a Master’s Degree, Real Estate from the University of Amsterdam.
