Justin Pascoe joins Cbus Super as the Head of Portfolio Construction

Global Investment Institute congratulates Justin Pascoe on joining Cbus Super as the Head of Portfolio Construction.

Cbus Super is an industry superannuation fund, established in 1984, eight years before super became compulsory in Australia, when it was known as the Building Unions Superannuation Scheme. Today, Cbus manages assets in excess of A$94 billion (as of 30 June 2024) on behalf of more than 920,000 members.

As the Head of Portfolio Construction, Justin will drive the overall portfolio construction and management function with oversight of the Fund’s asset allocation, execution and investment options areas. He will also be a key member of the Fund’s investment leadership team.

Spotlight on Karnail Sangha, Senior Portfolio Manager, Robeco

Karnail Sangha has been a Senior Portfolio Manager within the Robeco Emerging Markets Equity team since 2001. He is Co-Portfolio Manager for the Emerging Stars and Sustainable Emerging Stars Equity strategies. Furthermore, he also provides research coverage on India.

“Whether you are looking for short-term gains or long-term growth, the prospects for emerging markets (EM) look strong. In the long run, the transformation of global economic and political landscapes is expected to benefit EM, though it comes with the potential for increased geopolitical uncertainties. Global Investment Institute congratulates Steve McKenna on joining Insurance Commission of Western Australia(ICWA) in the role of Chief Investment Officer. Steve is responsible for managing the insurer’s investment portfolio and meeting its insurance liabilities.

ICWA provides motor vehicle injury insurance for more than 1.9 million drivers and insures 3.2 million vehicles in Western Australia. Additionally, they provide self-insurance arrangements for the Government, covering over 109 WA public authorities for workers’ compensation, property and liability. To meet their insurance liabilities, the commission invests and manage assets in an investment portfolio valued over A$7.5 billion.
