Ben Lam promoted to Head of Equities at Colonial First State (CFS)

GII congratulates Ben Lam on his promotion to Head of Equities at Colonial First State (CFS). CFS is one of the largest retail super funds in Australia with AU$145 billion in assets under management and a membership base of approximately 670,000.

Ben joined the Colonial First State FirstChoice Investments team in May 2016 and most recently held the role of Senior Investment Manager at CFS, with primary responsibility for undertaking research and providing advice in relation to manager selection and portfolio management of the FirstChoice Australian Share, Australian Small Companies, Australian Property Securities, Global Property Securities and Global Infrastructure Securities portfolios.

Spotlight on Heath Fuller, Senior Managing Director & Head of Capital Markets, Robeco - NXT Capital

Heath is a Senior Managing Director and Investment Committee member at NXT Capital, a leading U.S. middle market direct lending firm. He oversees capital market activities with an emphasis on structuring transactions, originating opportunities with direct lenders, and analysing market intelligence.

David Bluff to lead Future Fund's private equity investments

David joins from The Carlyle Group, where he was the country head for Australia, as Partner/Managing Director. He was with Carlyle for 13+ years and in that time he led and was actively involved in all of the transactions undertaken across Australia and New Zealand.

Spotlight on James Kirby, Principal, President, Deerpath Capital

James co-founded Deerpath in 2007. In his role as Principal, he acts in a capacity akin to the chief investment officer. GII congratulates Ben Griffiths on joining the Future Fund in the position of Director, Equities.

Immediately prior to this role, Ben was the Head of Equities in the Portfolio Delivery team at NSW TCorp (TCorp), where he played a key role in designing and constructing TCorp’s A$47 billion equity portfolio across developed and emerging markets.

Corrin Collocott appointed Deputy CIO, Mercer & Adam Deering appointed Senior PM-Equities, Mercer

GII congratulates Corrin Collocott on his appointment as the Chief Investment Officer, Mercer Super and Multi-Sector, and Deputy Chief Investment Officer of Mercer in Australia.

GII would also like to congratulate Adam Deering, who joins Mercer as a Senior Portfolio Manager, Equities with responsibility for the Mercer Pacific Equity and Listed Real Assets funds.

Both appointments follow from the recent merger between BT Super and Mercer Super into the Mercer Super Trust, which now manages AU$65 billion in assets, on behalf of more than 850,000 Australians to support their retirement outcomes.

Andrew Fisher appointed Head of Investment Strategy, Australian Retirement Trust

GII congratulates Andrew Fisher on his promotion, having been appointed the Head of Investment Strategy at Australian Retirement Trust (ART).

ART came into existence recently (2022), following the completion of the merger between two of Australia’s largest superannuation funds, SunSuper and QSuper, creating a new mega fund with AU$240 billion in assets under management and more than 3 million members.

Andrew commenced in his new role on Monday, 27 March 2023, taking over from Damian Lillicrap who finished up with the fund on Friday, 31 March 2023. He is responsible for managing strategy, asset allocation and investment risk for the super savings investment options at ART.

We wish Andrew all the best in his new role and continued success to the team at ART.
