Global Investment Institute congratulates Edwina Matthew and Ashish Gupta on joining the Future Fund as Director of Responsible Investment, and Director of Portfolio Risk, respectively.

The Future Fund is Australia’s sovereign wealth fund and manages money on behalf of the Australian Federal Government. The Future Fund is the country's single-largest financial asset with more than A$300 billion in assets under management.

Edwina Matthew

Edwina will report directly to Kirsten Simpson, who leads Future Fund’s Responsible Investment Team. Prior to joining the Future Fund, Edwina served as Investment Director for Sustainable Investment, APAC, at Wellington Management.

Edwina holds a Bachelor of Economics, with First Class Honours, from UNSW; a Diploma of Responsible Investing, Association for Sustainable & Responsible Investment, Australasia from the RI Academy and a Graduate Certificate in Social Impact, Sustainability Studies from the UNSW Business School.

Ashish Gupta

Ashish will report to Carol Lee, the Future Fund’s Managing Director of Portfolio Risk. Before joining the Future Fund, he served as an Investment Manager at HESTA, where he specialised in Portfolio Construction and Risk.

Ashish holds a Bachelor of Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, with Honours, from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
